Thanks to the foresight of rail enthusiast Arthur Hill, Victorian Railways steam locomotives have been preserved on film.
In this program, steam in action consists of:
* Double headed `C’ class north of Maryborough.
* D3 676 on the Wahgunyah mixed.
* A2 932 on a `down’ north-east roadside goods.
* K 183 on a Weedex train Skipton line.
* J 541 on Ararat bound goods.
* X 29 on a `down’ empty livestock train on the North East main line.
